This specimen was lot 74507 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 12 Mariengroschen (1/3 Taler), 1738-IAB. Zellerfeld Mint. Karl I. NGC Genuine--Bent, UNC Details. Despite the noted bend, this example offers light, old cabinet toning and particularly lustrous, reflective surfaces on the reverse. Ex: Wolff-Metternich Collection." This type was struck throughout Karl's long reign and is common.
