The first specimen was lot 74492 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 24 Mariengroschen (2/3 Taler), 1737-IAB. Zellerfeld Mint. Karl I. PCGS AU-55. A pleasing example of this appealing 'Wildman' type, exhibiting light, honest circulation wear and remnants of original patina. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." The second specimen was lot 74493 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 24 Mariengroschen (2/3 Taler), 1738-IAB. Zellerfeld Mint. Karl I. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details. Traces of original mint luster remain in the protected areas of this example. Amber and slate-grey colorations dominate the exterior, though notions of golden-bronze iridescence is faintly seen here and there. Pleasantly intricate and free from any distracting marks, the eye appeal remains strong on the present piece despite the noted cleaning. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection. Ex: Karl Stephens with old dealer ticket." This type was struck throughout Karl's long reign and is common.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver.

Catalog reference: Dav-362; KM-870; Welter-2735.
