This specimen was lot 807 in Jean Elsen sale 121 (Brussels, June 2014), where it sold for €1,900 (about US$3,043 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRABANT, Duché, Philippe IV (1621-1665), AV souverain (lion d'or), 1649, Anvers. Droit: Lion couronné debout à gauche, brandissant une épée, la patte posée sur un globe placé sur un socle. Revers: Ecu couronné, entouré du collier de la Toison d'or. Rare dans cette qualité. Superbe. (duchy of Brabant, Philip IV (1621-65), gold souverain d'or of 1649, Antwerp mint. Obverse: crowned lion to left, brandishing a sword and supporting a globe on a pedestal. Reverse: crowned arms, with the Order of the Golden Fleece around. Rare in this quality, extremely fine.)"

This type is listed for Antwerp (shown here) and Brussels (angel face mintmark, Fr-108) for 1648-65. Similar lions d'or were struck in Flanders (Fr-227) and Tournai (Fr-397).
