This specimen was lot 1093 in Jean Elsen sale 123 (Brussels, December 2014), where it sold for €230 (about US$334 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ALLEMAGNE, BAVIERE, Ludwig Ier (1825-1848), AR double Taler, 1840, Erection de la statue d'Albrecht Dürer à Nuremberg. Petits coups. Très Beau à Superbe. (Germany, Bavaria, Louis I (1825-48), silver double thaler of 1840, on the erection of a statue of Albrecht Durer at Nuremburg. Small dings, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type of 1840, like most Bavarian double thalers, is somewhat scarce.
