Morton & Eden sale 104, lot 344

This specimen was lot 344 in Morton & Eden sale 104 (London, November 2019), where it sold for £480 (about US$744 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic, 2 reales, Guadalajara mint, 1829 FS, minor rim flaw, good fine to very fine, very rare." The Guadalajara mint produced two reales 1825-62, with many dates fairly common. This one is rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a rare date, unpriced in the SCWC.

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.903 fine silver, 0.196 troy oz ASW.
