Künker sale 405, lot 3235

This specimen was lot 3235 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €6,500 (about US$8,529 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS FRANZ I., 1745-1765. Goldmünzen aus der Zeit des Kaisers Franz I. ½ Dukat o. J. (1745-1765), mit Titel von Franz I. Münzmeister Johann Christoph Busch. Stempelschneider Johann Leonhard Oexlein. GOLD. R Leicht gewellt, vorzüglich. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung MS 61 (6645572-004). (city of Regensburg, undated half ducat, struck in the name of Francis I. Rare, slightly wavy, extremely fine, graded NGC MS-61.)"

This half ducat differs from the similar Fr-2539a in the reverse legend; this one states, "MON·REIP·RATISBON·", while Fr-2539a has, "PROSPICIENTE DEO".
