This specimen was lot 31292 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), where it sold for $1,292.50. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Republic gold 5 Pesos 1874 Zs-A MS63 NGC, Zacatecas mint. Choice Uncirculated with most attractive reddish toning and only few handling marks, as expected for the grade. Very elusive in this quality and should receive substantial attention as a type coin. From The FoxLair Collection." This type was struck in Zacatecas 1874-78 and 1883-92 and is a somewhat available mint.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a slightly better date.

Specification: 8.46 g, .875 fine gold, .238 troy oz AGW.
