Morton & Eden sale 104, lot 428

This specimen was lot 428 in Morton & Eden sale 104 (London, November 2019), where it sold for £800 (about US$1,239 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic, 8 reales, Durango mint, 1864 CP, normal date, a couple of tiny metal faults, good extremely fine and rare." This date is priced about triple that of 1864-DO LT.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a scarce date.

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver, 0.785 troy oz ASW.
