Künker sale 406, lot 3740

This specimen was lot 3740 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €1,200 (about US$1,575 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"CHINA, Volksrepublik. 50 Yuan 1994. Erfindungen und Entdeckungen des Altertums. Schiffsmast. 15,55 g Feingold. GOLD. Nur 1.200 Exemplare geprägt. Polierte Platte. (people's republic of China, fifty yuan of 1994, ancient inventions and discoveries, ship's mast. Only 1,200 pieces struck, proof.)"
