from the Stack's Bowers 2018 NYINC sale, lot 22790
Mexico SB118-24357r.jpg

This specimen was lot 24357 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. War of Independence. National Congress. 2 Reales, 1813. NGC VF-30 BN. Struck in copper. Crude, uneven strike as usual. Full bold date. Nice even chocolate brown patina." This type is noted for 1812-14 and is not listed as particularly scarce, unlike the silver equivalents (KM A213, KM 213) which are very rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: copper.

Catalog reference: KM-212.
