This specimen was lot 2251 in Goldberg sale 93 (Los Angeles, September 2016), where it sold for $117.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico. 4 Reales, 1844-Go PM NGC About Unc. Cap and rays. NGC graded About Uncirculated, Details (Reverse Damage)." Ten mints (Mexico City, Guanajuato, Zacatecas, Potosi, Oaxaca, Hermosillo, Real del Catorce, Guadalupe y Calvo, Guadalajara and Culiacan) struck this type of which Guanajuato is tied with Zacatecas as the commonest mint.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 13.54 g, 0.903 fine silver, .392 troy oz ASW.
