This specimen was lot 6241 in Ponterio sale 155 (Baltimore, November 2010), where it sold for $287.50. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Mexico|MEXICO]]. Culiacan. 8 Reales, 1870-CE. Beautifully toned, nice strike. CHOICE ALMOST UNCIRCULATED."  The Culiacan mint struck eight reales 1846-97 and this date is scarce tho somewhat available. It is the final date where assayer CE appears.
