This specimen was lot 34338 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $588. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico: Republic gold Escudo 1845/4 GC-MP MS61 PCGS, Guadalupe y Calvo mint. The perfect combination of a rare overdate and a desirable mint, mildly iridescent with sky-blue highlights set against harvest gold fields. Ex. Heritage Auction #311 (January 2003, Lot 13118); Pittman Collection." The SCWC notes that this mint issued this denomination 1844-51 with no dates warranting a premium. The overdate is not listed therein.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.875 fine gold, .760 troy oz AGW.
