This specimen was struck at Zacatecas, a slightly scarce date of a type struck there 1870-90. Many dates of the balance scale twenty-five centavos are unknown in high grade. This specimen was lot 9130 in Ponterio sale 159 (Baltimore, March 2011), where it sold for $402.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Zacatecas. 25 Centavos, 1874-ZsA. NGC MS-64."

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.903 fine silver, .196 troy oz ASW.
