This specimen was lot 31381 in Heritage sale 3041 (Chicago, August 2015), where it sold for $705. The catalog description[1] noted, "Ferdinand VII gold Escudo 1818 Mo-JJ AU Details (Obverse Scratched) NGC, Mexico City mint. A flashy selection with stunning, bright golden fields and design elements that hold just a hint of friction. An obverse scratch accounts for the details grade, but does not wholly detract from the appeal of this piece. From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins." This type was struck 1814-21 and is usually seen in VF-EF or lower. Jewelry damage is common.
