This specimen was lot 70218 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2023), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Zacatecas. War of Independence. 2 Reales, 1818-Z AG. Zacatecas Mint. Ferdinand VII. PCGS VF-30. Quite crude as can often be the case, but still rather inviting and enchanting, with even wear spread throughout." Zacatecas minted two reales with the regular bust of the king 1818-22. A scarce small bust variety was made in 1819.
