This specimen was lot 31382 in Heritage sale 3041 (Chicago, August 2015), where it sold for $1,527.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Ferdinand VII gold Escudo 1819 Mo-JJ AU58 NGC, Mexico City mint. A lustrous selection with a minimal amount of wear atop the highest points and strong design features for the type. Highly-collectible in this nearly-uncirculated designation. Ex. Eliasberg Collection. From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins." This type was struck 1814-21 and is usually seen in VF-EF or lower. Jewelry damage is common.
