This specimen was lot 31380 in Heritage sale 3041 (Chicago, August 2015), where it sold for $540.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Ferdinand VII gold Escudo 1817 Mo-JJ VF30 NGC, Mexico City mint. A worn example of this type with classic color and fields that lack any noteworthy marks. From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins." This type was struck 1814-21 and is usually seen in VF-EF or lower. Jewelry damage is common.
