This specimen was lot 819 in Goldberg Sale 150 (Los Angeles, February 2026), where it sold for $630. The catalog description[1] noted, "France. Ecu aux 8 L, 1704-T (Nantes). Louis XIV, 1643-1715. Bust right. Reverse: Crowned double L's in cruciform, fleur-de-lis in angles. Struck over earlier type. Toned. PCGS graded AU-50." This type was struck at Nantes 1704-08 along with quarter and half écus.

Recorded mintage: limonite[2].

Specification: 27.45 g, 0.917 fine silver, edge lettered DOMINE SALVVM FAC REGEM, designed by Joseph Roëttiers.
