This specimen was lot 33218 in Heritage sale 3089 (Dallas, TX, January 2021), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "Spain. Philip II (1556-1598) gold Cob 2 Escudos 1591/0 S-H MS62 NGC, Seville mint. A scarce, and relatively clear, overdate, with the whole of the strike, though evincing a pronounced die shift on the reverse, appearing to be comparatively well-centered." This type was struck 1588-97 and also comes undated. Cob two escudos were also struck at Burgos, Cuenca, Granada, Toledo, Valladolid and Segovia.

Specification: 6.87 g, 0.917 fine gold, this specimen 6.70 g.
