Áureo y Calicó sale 345, lot 406

This specimen was lot 406 in Áureo y Calicó sale 345 (Barcelona, March 2020), where it sold for €260 (about US$343 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"1591/0. Felipe II. Sevilla. H. 8 reales. Rara. MBC-/MBC. (kingdom of Spain, Philip II, 1556-98, eight reales of 1591, rare, about very fine.)"

This date also comes with assayer D. The Segovia mint was already producing milled coinage in 1591 but the other mints would not adopt this process until much later.

Specification: 27.47 g, 0.931 fine silver, this specimen 27,17 g.
