Künker sale 405, lot 3205

This specimen was lot 3205 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €1,300 (about US$1,706 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS KARLS VI. 1/2 Reichstaler o. J. (1711-1740), mit Titel Karls VI. Münzmeister Johann Michael Federer. Stempelschneider vermutlich Johann Pichler. RR Feine Patina, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (city of Regensburg, undated half thaler, struck in the name of Charles VI. Very rare, fine patina, very fine to extremely fine.)"

The SCWC attributes this type to 1708, i.e., before Charles VI ascended the throne on the death of his brother.
