Regensburg (1711-40) 1/2 ducat Fr-2502a
This specimen was lot 3190 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €4,600 (about US$6,036 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS KARLS I. 1/2 Dukat o. J. (1711-1740), mit Titel Karls VI. Münzmeister Johann Michael Federer. Stempelschneider Johann Pichler. GOLD. Von großer Seltenheit. Prachtexemplar. Fast Stempelglanz. (city of Regensburg, undated half ducat, struck in the name of Charles VI. Extremely rare, cabinet example, about uncirculated.)"
The SCWC mentions KM 271 (eagle/crossed keys, shown here) and KM 272 (crossed keys/bust) as half ducats for Charles VI. Friedberg does not mention an undated variety. The next issue of half ducats would be in the 1740's for Charles VII and Francis I.
