Künker sale 405, lot 3187

This specimen was lot 3187 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €7,000 (about US$9,185 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS KARLS I. Dukat 1712, mit Titel Karls VI. Münzmeister Johann Michael Federer. Die gekreuzten Stadtschlüssel in verzierter Barockkatusche, darüber Engelskopf//Geharnischtes Brustbild r. mit Lorbeerkranz, umgelegtem Mantel und der Kette des Ordens vom Goldenen Vlies. GOLD. RR Prachtexemplar. Feine Goldtönung, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (city of Regensburg, ducat of 1712, struck in the name of Charles VI. Obverse: the crossed keys of the city in a baroque cartouche, an angel above; reverse: armored, mantled and laureate bust right wearing the order chain. Very rare, cabinet example, fine gold toning, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

This type also comes without date which, on this coin, is on the truncation.

Recorded mintage: 683 plus more undated.
