Künker sale 405, lot 3193

This specimen was lot 3193 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €2,400 (about US$3,149 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS KARLS I. 1/4 Dukatenklippe o. J. (1711-1740). Münzmeister vermutlich Johann Christoph Busch. GOLD. RR Prachtexemplar. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (city of Regensburg, undated quarter ducat, struck in the name of Charles VI. Very rare, cabinet example, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

This type, KM 354, is listed in the SCWC as an issue of Francis I (1745-65). As the coin lacks text of any kind except for the mintmaster's initial, we will let the reader decide.
