This specimen was lot 2188 in Jean Elsen sale 163 (Brussels, November 2025), where it sold for €850 (about US$982 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"PÉROU, République (1821-), AV 20 soles, 1965. (republic of Peru, gold twenty soles of 1965, Extremely Fine.)"
This denomination, struck 1950-69, was theoretically a circulating coin but actually was a bullion piece like her sisters, the gold five, ten, fifty and hundred soles.
Recorded mintage: 12,000.
Specification: 9.36 g, 0.900 fine gold, 22 mm diameter, this specimen 9,35 g.
