This silver twenty soles was minted in Lima in 1965 to commemorate the four hundredth anniversary of the founding of that mint in 1565. The design features a "pillars and waves" eight reales, the first coin from the mint. This issue is not known in worn condition, so it does not seem to have circulated.
Recorded mintage: 150,000.
Specification: 8 g, 0.900 fine silver, 24.2 mm diameter, reeded edge.
