from the Stack's Bowers 2017 ANA sale, lot 23107

This specimen was lot 23107 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $493.50. The catalog description^[1] noted, "PERU. 20 Soles, 1963. PCGS MS-67 Secure Holder. Mintage of only 3,892 pieces. From the Blue Moon Collection." This denomination, struck 1950-69, was theoretically a circulating coin but actually was a bullion piece like her sisters, the gold five, ten, fifty and hundred soles.
