The twenty soles denomination was originally a gold coin (KM 229) struck 1950-69. This silver commemorative honored a Peruvian victory in the War of the Pacific with Chile. It is not believed to exist in circulated condition. A gold fifty soles was also issued to mark the occasion.

Specification: 7.97 g, 0.900 fine silver, .229 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.
