Künker sale 403, lot 1389

This specimen was lot 1389 in Künker sale 403 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €300 (about US$394 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"PAPST CLEMENS X., 1670-1676. Die Münzstätte Rom. Grosso del Giubileo 1675, Rom. Mit spiegelverkehrtem N in CLEMENS. . Feine Patina, vorzüglich. (Papal States, Clement X, 1670-76, grosso for the jubilee of 1675, with a reversed "N" in CLEMENS, Rome mint. Fine patina, extremely fine.)"

This is one of a pair of grossi issued for the Holy Year of 1675; the other (KM 359) shows the Holy Door closed. The pope also issued four different testoni and four different piastri for the occasion.

Specification: 1.57 g, 0.917 fine silver, this specimen 1,40 g.
