Sincona sale 63, lot 385

This specimen was lot 385 in Sincona sale 63 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 350 CHF (about US$439 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND | Nurnberg, City. 1/6 Taler 1623. Mit dem Münzmeisterzeichen Stern (Hans Christoph Lauer). Selten. Sehr schön. Schrötlingsfehler am Rand. (Germany, city of Nurnberg, one-sixth thaler of 1623, with the privy mark of Hans Christoph Lauer. Rare, Very fine, Flan flaw on edge.)"

This type was struck 1623-24. It was succeeded by KM 146, struck 1638-43.
