This specimen was lot 920 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $2,280. The catalog description[1] noted, "NUREMBERG: Free Imperial City, AR thaler, 1623, an attractive lustrous mint state example, PCGS graded MS62, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." This type is listed for 1623-25 and 1628 and is fairly common. Another thaler of 1623, Dav-5636, has the reverse legend "SEMP·AVGVST·D:P:" instead of "SEMPER AVGVST·" shown here.
