Künker sale 335, lot 4172

This specimen was lot 4172 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €1,400 (about US$1,832 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"NÜRNBERG, STADT. Guldentaler (60 Kreuzer) 1624, mit Titel Ferdinands II. RR Kratzer, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, city of Nurnberg, gulden of 1624, in the name of Ferdinand II, Rare, scratches, very fine to extremely fine.)"

This gulden features an angel face hovering over two shields. We also note another gulden, KM 42, with shields and cherubs on the obverse and the imperial eagle on the reverse, that was struck 1620-35.
