Sincona sale 63, lot 386

This specimen was lot 386 in Sincona sale 63 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 2,000 CHF (about US$2,506 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND | Nurnberg, City. 1/8 Taler 1623. Mit dem Münzmeisterzeichen Stern (Hans David Lauer). Sehr selten. Sehr schön. Leicht dezentriert. (Germany, city of Nurnberg, one-eighth thaler of 1623, with the privy mark of Hans Christoph Lauer. Very rare, Very fine, Slightly off-centered.)"

This rare type was also struck in 1623.
