This type was struck in Mexico in 1985 to promote the World Cup of soccer hosted in Mexico City that year. It is accompanied by other commemoratives up to one thousand pesos, including two other twenty-five peso issues (KM 497 and KM 514). The mintage was low but as all were saved, it is not rare.

Recorded mintage: 41,255.

Specification: 8.41 g, 0.925 fine silver.
