This specimen was part of lot 21338 in Heritage sale 61630 (Dallas, February 2024), which sold for $109. The lot description[1] noted, "Mexico: Estados Unidos 4-Piece Lot of Certified Assorted "World Cup" Issues NGC, ...3) 50 Pesos 1985-Mo MS65 NGC, Mexico City mint; 4) 25 Pesos 1985-Mo MS66 NGC, Mexico City mint." Mexico issued several commemoratives for her hosting the World Cup of 1986, which was marred by a massive earthquake which badly damaged Mexico City. We don't know why this NCLT was struck in 0.720 fine silver when the other silver commemoratives were struck in 0.900 fine silver.
