This specimen was part of lot 73279 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, June 2020), which sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Duo of Silver Denominations (2 Pieces), 1986-2010. Mexico City Mint. NGC or PCGS Certified. 1) 200 Pesos, 1986- Mo. NGC MS-69. World Cup of Soccer. 2) 10 Pesos, 2010-Mo. PCGS PROOF-68 Deep Cameo. Revolutionaries. A charming pair, with highly mirrored surfaces and supremely frosted devices." Mexico issued several commemoratives for her hosting the World Cup of 1986, which was marred by a massive earthquake which badly damaged Mexico City. Another 200 pesos was issued in 1986 (KM 525) in copper-nickel. It may have actually circulated.
