This specimen was lot 34776 in Heritage sale 3067 (Long Beach, September 2018), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico: Estados Unidos gold "World Cup Soccer" 1000 Pesos 1986-Mo MS65 NGC, Mexico City mint. Fully lustrous with mirror-like fields that exhibit whirls of cartwheel luster. A popular issue celebrating Mexico's hosting of the 1986 World Cup." This is one of several NCLT's issued for the 1986 World Cup, which Mexico hosted.

Recorded mintage: 1,279.
