This specimen was lot 71295 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, February 2020), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Peso, 1903-Cn FV. Culiacan Mint. PCGS MS-63 Gold Shield. A mostly argent specimen, this choice piece features a light degree of golden toning near the peripheries as well as resounding luster and brilliance." The type was struck 1898-1905 and 1908-09; this date is scarce. Another assayer, JS, exists and is common.

Recorded mintage: 1,514,000 (assayers JQ and FV).

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
