The first specimen was lot 22363 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $49. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Culiacan. Centavo, 1903-C. NGC MS-64 BN." This type is available in brown uncirculated but may not exist with mint red.
Recorded mintage: 536,000.
Specification: copper, plain edge.
