This specimen is one of a series struck 1899-1905 at the Mexico City mint. As production was not approved until December 1899, only few were made before the end of the year, making this date the key of the series. Culiacan also struck this type 1901-05. This type is available in brown uncirculated but may not exist with mint red.
Specification: copper.
Mintage: 51,000.
