This specimen was lot 71005 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $456. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Centavo, 1877-Cn. Culiacan Mint. NGC AU-58 Brown. Finest of only two graded. Exceptional example of this scarce date. Sharply struck and very attractive. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Decimal Minors." The Culiacan mint struck one centavos 1874-77, 1880-81 and 1897. They are not rare in circulated condition but only the 1897-CN is available in uncirculated.

Recorded mintage: 993, 088, including an 1877/6 overdate.

Specification: 7.6 g, copper, 25 mm diameter, reeded edge.
