This specimen was lot 8133 in Ponterio sale 159 (Baltimore, March 2011), where it sold for $632.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Guadalajara. 1/2 Real, 1825-GaFS. Dipped. BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED." It was struck at the Guadalajara mint in 1825, one of a type struck there 1825-62. Assayer FS is listed for 1825-36. Many early Guadalajara issues such as this one are listed as common but are not.
