Sincona sale 85, lot 1220

This specimen was lot 1220 in Sincona sale 85 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 525 CHF (about US$707 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN, Sultan Ahmad Shah, 1327-1344 AH (1909-1925). 1/5 Toman 1332 AH (1913/1914 AD), Tehran Mint. Bust type. NGC MS63. Magnificent condition. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 216. Tied with one other for finest certified by NGC."

This type was struck AH 1332-43. This denomination was also struck in silver (KM 1057).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 0.57 g, 0.900 fine gold, 14 mm diameter, this specimen is 0.60 g.
