Sincona sale 67, lot 4271

This specimen was lot 4271 in Sincona sale 67 (Zürich, October 2020), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$395 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN | Qajar Dynasty | Ahmad Shâh, 1327-1344 H./1909-1925 AD, Silver coinage. 5000 Dinars 1331 H. Bust half left on branches, name and title above, the date below, rev. lion and sun above value in wreath. Better date. Very fine."

This type was struck AH 1331-1344. The five krans was the largest silver coin and was struck only in small numbers.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.

Specification: 23.03 g, 0.900 fine silver, this specimen 22.72 g.
