Sincona sale 85, lot 1236

This specimen was lot 1236 in Sincona sale 85 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 4,000 CHF (about US$5,387 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN, Sultan Ahmad Shah, 1327-1344 AH (1909-1925). 1000 Dinars 1330 AH (1911/1912 AD), Tehran Mint. Proof. Lion & Sun type. Very rare in this condition. NGC PF67+ CAMEO. Cabinet piece. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 260. Finest certified by NGC."

This type was struck AH 1327-1330 and is common. There is also KM 1056, with a bust obverse, which was actually struck in AH 1340 but dated AH 1330 in error.

Specification: 4.60 g, 0.900 fine silver, 23 mm diameter.
