Sincona sale 85, lot 1219

This specimen was lot 1219 in Sincona sale 85 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 400 CHF (about US$539 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN, Sultan Ahmad Shah, 1327-1344 AH (1909-1925). 1/5 Toman 1330 AH (1912 AD), Tehran Mint. Lion & Sun type. NGC MS61. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 213. Bought from Dr. Shams-Aram, London, 1986. Finest certified by NGC."

This type was struck AH 1328-1330. Several silver 2000 dinars (KM 1041, 1043, 1057) exist for this date.

Specification: 0.57 g, 0.900 fine gold, 14 mm diameter, this specimen 0.56 g.
