This specimen was part of lot 29057 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), which sold for $240. The catalog description[2] noted, Trio of Louis XIV Minor Silver Coins, ...2) 1/4 Écu aux insignes 1702-T VF, Nantes mint. ...From the Doug Robins Collection of Canadian Tokens." The type was struck 1701-03 in substantial numbers. There are also tenth, half and one écus struck during this period with this design.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a scarce date (all flans reformées)[1].

Specification: 6.86 g, 0.917 fine silver, 27-28 mm diameter, reeded edge, designed by Joseph Roëttiers.
