This specimen was lot 33439 in Heritage sale 3114 (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $3,120. The lot description[1] noted, "Cuba. Republic gold Proof "Buenaventura" 100 Pesos (1 oz) 2000 PR68 Ultra Cameo NGC, Havana mint. Navigation Relics series. One of only three specimens on the NGC census commemorating the steam paddleboat Buenaventura, clad in reflectivity and frost." Desperate for foreign exchange, Cuba has issued large numbers of NCLT's, many only vaguely related to Cuba. This design was also used on a five ounce silver coin.

Specification: 31.10 g, 0.999 fine gold, 38 mm diameter, 1.000 troy oz AGW.
