This specimen was lot 1244 in Sedwick Auction 36 (Winter Park, FL, November 2024), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "CUBA, Havana mint, gold proof 50 pesos, 2000, Welcome New Millennium - Solar System, NGC PF 68 Ultra Cameo. Eye-catching design with reverse-frosted legend and date made out of stars, practically flawless, second finest in NGC census behind a single PF 69 (mintage quantity unknown)." This NCLT accompanied a 100 pesos of the same design (KM 712). Friedberg does not list any Cuban gold coins after Fr-100 (issued 2001).

Recorded mintage: unknown but all proofs.

Specification: 15.55 g, 0.999 fine gold, 0.500 troy oz AGW.
